Howard Stern is "the newest judge on America's Got Talent"
That tweet went out on the Sirius XM Twitter feed this morning, as the satellite radio personality announced on the air that he'll be succeeding Piers Morgan on the NBC talent-discovery show. There was speculation earlier this Fall about Stern joining the show, and the adjustments that would be required. One of them may have been a dealbreaker for Stern: that in addition to the travel required for regional competitions, he wouldn't have to commute from his base in New York out to Los Angeles. The L.A. Times now says "The entire production, which had been located in Los Angeles for the last six seasons, will re-locate to New York, to accommodate Stern's satellite radio show." The New York Post reported last month that Stern was asking $20 million to join the show. On his radio program this morning, Stern had current America's Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne on the air. The other judge is Howie Mandel. The next season of "Talent" begins shooting in February. The New York Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about Howard Stern now.
