In Corpus Christi, Texas, one AM station is sold while another flips format
KSIX-AM (1230) is one of the oldest radio stations in the Corpus Christi area, and now the ESPN Radio affiliate and sports affiliate for the Houston Astros, Texans and local Texas A&M university basketball has been sold. The Withers Family Texas Holdings group sold KSIX to a group that includes current PD/afternoon host Scott Howe and former OM Bill Doerner, for an undisclosed price. The station is expected to retain its all-sports format and to add another local daypart. Across town at KCCT-AM (1150), the former progressive talk format is stunting, and running a promo saying “True Conservative Radio is coming.” Hosts expected to be a part of the format include Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin during the week, with country music on the weekends.
