"Indie 103.1" moves to the Internet only – as L.A. awaits a new format
Entravision let the alternative rock station’s PD and staff go this morning, and announcers were heard saying goodbye between songs, before a loop started playing saying “Indie can no longer compete with the corporate radio game.” The station is still airing online, though. KDLE simulcasts with co-channel KDLD, licensed to Santa Monica, and has been airing the alternative rock format since Christmas 2003. The Radio-Info boards starting discussing the flip last night, and at least one source predicts the station will go regional Mexican/rhythmic as “El Gato”, with no jocks. Join the discussion here:
