Is CBS planning an FM sports flip in Chicago?
After announcing that WBZW-FM (93.7) in Pittsburgh will flip from CHR to Sports as “The Fan,” is CBS planning an FM sports flip in Chicago? The Sun Times reports that if CBS-owned WSCR-AM (670) “The Score” were to move to the FM dial, the most likely speculated vehicle would be WCFS-FM (105.9). The A/C station is the lowest-rated CBS station out of the seven rated in the market, with a 1.6 share age 6+, according to the December Arbitron PPM rankings. In the select 25-54 male category in the same ratings, The Score was the #1 radio station in the Chicago market. CBS Radio already has sports/talk on FM stations in Boston, Dallas, Detroit and Washington, DC, with Pittsburgh starting next month.
