Jason Barrett named PD of San Fransisco sports/talk KBWF (95.7)
Sports/talk PD Jason Barrett continues his trek from the East Coast to the West Coast. Barrett is leaving Hubbard-owned (formerly Bonneville) WXOS-FM (101.1) in St. Louis, and will join Entercom's new sports/talk outlet KBWF-FM (95.7) in San Francisco as PD. Entercom San Francisco VP/Market Manager Dwight Walker says, "He has clearly demonstrated that he knows how to provide compelling entertainment for sports fans and how to capture an all new audience on the FM dial. I know that he'll be energizing Bay Area fans hungry for a fresh perspective on sports." Barrett got his start on the air on WTBQ-AM (1110) in Warwick, New York outside of New York City, then on to WPDH-FM (101.5) in Poughkeepsie and WPYX-FM (106.5) in Albany. He then moved to ESPN Radio, was PD of Philadelphia's sports/talk WPEN-AM (950) and in St. Louis was PD of KFNS-AM (590) before moving across town to WXOS. You can listen to KBWF, the new radio home of the Oakland As baseball team, here.
