Jay "Mixin" Dixon to program WRKS "98.7 Kiss FM" New York
Jay Dixon, former PD of Cox Media’s urban AC WALR “Kiss 104.1” Atlanta, returns to New York as PD of Emmis Urban AC WRKS. He replaces Jill Strada, who left to program Beasley Broadcasting's Rhythmic WPOW "Power 96" in Miami. Dixon previously worked at WRKS as production/creative services director in the ‘90s. He went on to program Cox Media’s WBHK Birmingham, as well as work with that company’s urban outlets over the course of his tenure there. "I'm thrilled about returning to 98.7 KISS FM New York as Program Director,” says Dixon. “This has been my dream forever! It'll be like a family reunion with the Emmis NY folks - taking me back to my roots in the greatest city in the world. It'll truly be an honor to be working with Alex [Cameron], Ebro, Rick and the entire on-air staff." Dixon will start his new gig on August 10.
