John Cook Exits Philadelphia's "Ben-FM" WBEN (95.7)
Cook originally joined the cluster to handle then-AC “Now 97.5” WNUW, but that station became sports WPEN-FM, and Cook concentrated on classic/variety hits “Ben-FM” WBEN (95.7). Now Greater Media says it’s not renewing his contract at the Bala Cynwyd operation. Cook, the son of legendary WFIL personality and programmer Jay Cook, grew up in Philadelphia, and previously programmed WYSP (94.1) for CBS. Radio-Info is told a replacement for John Cook may be named next week at “Ben.”
