"Kat Country" KATP Amarillo, Texas, Adopts Jockless Presentation
Townsquare Media's KATP (Kat Country 102) Amarillo, Texas, has let its air staff go and is adopting a Jack-FM like, jockless presentation, while keeping the format country, according to former staffers. Among those who were displaced in the format change are PD/morning man Ryan McWilley and four year station veteran Heather McNeese, who most recently was the afternoon host. She says, "Townsquare Media gave us some great new skills when it comes to the digital world. We were blogging twice a day and using tons of social media sites through the station like Facebook, Twitter, Stumble Upon, etc. I definitely have much more digital experience than ever before. I love radio and hope to continue to find a way to work in it." McNeese can be reached at h_mcneese@yahoo.com or by phone at 806-626-1523.
