"Kiss" KCKS Chico, Calif., flips off CHR, kicks off Sports
Just shy of its first anniversary February 24 as top 40 “Kiss 101.7,” Deer Creek Broadcasting’s KCKS-FM Chico, Calif., switched back to sports, simulcasting sister KEWE (1340) as “Fox Sports 101.7.” The change took place just in time for the FM to air Super Bowl coverage. The former Kiss website now takes you directly to 1340foxwsports.com, where the banner now reads “101.7/1340 AM.” Both stations air Dan Patrick in mornings, “The Jingle with Jim Rome” from 9 a.m. to noon, “The Loose Cannons” with Pat O’Brien, Steve Hartman and Vic Jacobs until 4 p.m., and drive time with Petros and Money. Fox Sports Evening starts at 7 p.m. The California Board of Radio-Info.com started talking about 101.7 returning to all-sports last week and they're still talking - here.
