KCUR, Kansas City GM nominated for the board of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
Patricia Deal Cahill has been at the helm of KCUR-FM (89.3), located at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, since 1987. President Barack Obama has just nominated her to join the board of the CPB. Cahill’s work in broadcasting has spanned five decades, and if she is approved by the US Senate, she would become the first active public radio station manager to be named to the board. Although not a government agency, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is a non-profit agency set up by Congress in 1967 to promote public telecommunications service, investing in more than 1,000 non-commercial radio & TV stations.
