KFAN-AM in Minneapolis gains hockey's Minnesota Wild
Sports fans in Minneapolis will have to get used to turning the dial to find their favorite sports teams. Following news from earlier this week that the NBA Minnesota Timberwolves were going to make CBS Radio's WCCO-AM (830) their radio flagship, moving from KFAN-AM (1130), now comes word that hockey's Minnesota Wild will also be on the move next season. They transfer from WCCO-AM to KFAN-AM after signing a three-year contract. Clear Channel-owned sports/talk KFAN is already the flagship radio home of the NFL's Minnesota Vikings and the University of Minnesota football and basketball teams. The Wild's radio broadcast team of Bob Kurtz, Tom Reid and Kevin Fainess will remain in place.
