KFI, L.A.'s Bill Handel is tired of handling two shifts a day
Highly-rated Clear Channel talker KFI (640) goes for a Canadian import to replace Bill Handel in the noon-2pm shift he'd only recently added to his morning drive job. Bill Carroll comes to KFI from Toronto’s “News Talk 1010” CFRB. KFI programmer Robin Bertolucci says Carroll is “a wonderful find….he is smart, articulate and one of the best storytellers in radio.” He takes over the early afternoon shift on L.A.’s leading talk station on Monday, February 22, and Bill Handel can get back to his regular life. He says “I definitely underestimated how much having a second show would eat up my day.” Handel took on the extra show after KFI and Dr. Laura Schlessinger parted ways, late last year. Dr. Laura is now the centerpiece of news/talk KFWB (980). [The Los Angeles Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about Handel and Carroll now, here.
