KMPS Seattle Lays Off Longtime MD Tony Thomas
KMPS Seattle music director and air personality Tony Thomas has been let go. He had been with the station since April 1989, hosting middays since June 2010, and previously in afternoons. Thomas posted on his Facebook page this morning, "How amazing is it that I haven't had to look for a new job in 22 YEARS? I've been blessed, and I'm grateful. And I'm thankful for the many amazing people I've met along the way. The time for something new has come. I'll sure keep you in the loop." In recent months, layoffs at KMPS have also included longtime PD Becky Brenner and morning team Candy & Potter.Thomas can be reached at tony.thomas.now@gmail.com and via facebook.com/tonythomas.Radio-Info.com's Seattle-Tacoma discussion board is talking about the KMPS changes here.
