KRLA talker Kevin James wants to be mayor of Los Angeles

Kevin James A number of names are in the mix when it comes to running for mayor in Los Angeles in 2013. However, one has ties to radio. Talk KRLA-AM (870) overnight talk host Kevin James says he will announce his intentions to run for mayor of the nation's second-largest city today (3/16). James, a lawyer who is also a former prosecutor with the US Attorney's office in Oklahoma, plans to make his announcement on the steps of L.A.'s City Hall. James got his start on radio with KABC-AM (790), and prior to joining KRLA worked in Oklahoma City on KTOK-AM (1000). James campaign spokesman John Thomas tells the L.A. Times, "One of the secrets to his candidacy is he brings a broad-based coalition to the table."
