Lake Tahoe's "Local Talk, Classic Rock" AM gets an FM signal, too
Darrell Wampler bought K241BK at 96.1 from Radio Assist and is now simulcasting his KTHO (590) on it. Wampler is known around Los Angeles modern rocker KROQ-FM as “Insane Darrell Wayne”, but he’s quite serious about building out a community radio station franchise in Lake Tahoe. His IAS (International Aerospace Solutions) bought the AM for $125,000, and the FM translator for another $30,000. The FCC application for the translator said it would be repeating non-commercial KNIS, Carson City, NV, but now it’s been switched to simulcast KTHO.
