Las Vegas alternative "Area 107.9" becomes variety hits "Bob FM"
KVGS owner George Beasley drops the six-year-old alternative format to become a new "We play everything" Bob FM. The change returns the Adult Hits format to the market for the first time since the CBS' KKJJ (Jack FM). George Beasley personally owns the station, which has a management agreement with the public Beasley Broadcast Group. KVGS is licensed to Meadview, Arizona, with an on-channel booster at the Stratosphere Casino in Las Vegas. In October 2005, the station dropped its previous urban AC approach to become "Area 108", then later sharpened the frequency ID to "Area 107.9." The website for the new "Bob FM" is here. Radio-Info.com's Sean Ross has already taken a "First Listen." The Nevada Board of Radio-Info.com was alert to the change and posted the news in the early morning hours, here.Previous and Next Stories
