LBI Media reports first quarter radio revenues are flat
TV division revenues soared 22%, partly due to the wider syndication of LBI Media’s “EstrellaTV” Spanish language TV lineup. For the first time, LBI Media topline revenues from its radio and TV divisions are almost exactly equal. But digging deeper into the results, it’s apparent that it’s still the radio division that pays most of the bills. Radio contributed $3.9 million in operating income versus less than $700,000 from TV. The adjusted EBITDA from radio was $5.2 million, versus $1.8 million from TV. LBI got EstrellaTV accepted as a Nielsen-rated national network in March, and that should help gain acceptance from advertisers.
