"Live 95.5" is Portland, Oregon's new "Next Generation AC"
The frequency vacated at 5pm today (5/25) by all-sports "Game" KXTG (now on 750 AM) is quickly occupied by a station that targets women ages 27 to 38. Core artists include stars like Pink, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Adele, John Mayer and Lady Gaga. They'll call the station KBFF. Alpha Broadcasting chooses Keola Lui-Kwan to program "Live 95.5." He's been the assistant PD and music director at Alpha's country KUPL for the last 18 months, and had been involved in programming departments in Seattle, San Francisco, Kansas City, Stockton and Honolulu. One of Alpha's considerations with Live 95.5 is keeping it away from its existing adult alternative KINK (101.9). The Oregon Board of Radio-Info.com talks about the 10,000-song launch here.
