Local host Joe Crummey is out at NYC's talk WABC-AM (770)
He posted yesterday on his Twitter that after his show he was going to "Lunch w/ my WABC crew at secret Penn Station location," and left a picture of newsman Noam Laden, board-op Crash and producer Mary Elkordy. The next day - no more show. WABC-AM (770) had parted ways with late-morning host Joe Crummey, and on Thursday in his place was his former newsman Laden with Imus sidekick Bernard McGuirk. No word as to a permanent replacement, or the fate of his now-former staff, which includes sidekick Patty Steele. Crummey is the second talk host who has left since the departure of former PD Laurie Cantillo. It was Cantillo who brought in both Crummey and Mancow Muller, who did a Sunday evening show on WABC and was part of the recent layoffs by Cumulus. Not only is New York talking about Joe Crummey, here - so is the board of his former radio market, Los Angeles. That thread is here.
