The New York Post reports they were the main reasons Lou Dobbs abruptly resigned Wednesday evening, leaving CNN and the $9 million due to him for the last 18 months of his contract. The Post reveals Dobbs' departure could have been a clash of egos with CNN President Jonathan Klein, who in July sent a memo to Dobbs' staff to drop stories about the issue of Obama’s birthplace, writing “It seems this story is dead because anyone who still is not convinced doesn’t really have a legitimate beef.” Dobbs' agent in October sent a note to CNN, asking them to “let him (Dobbs) go.” Dobbs has been mum on any future plans, but continues to do his syndicated radio show with United Stations.
