Louisville's long-silent 1450 is back, as all-sports "Buzz"
It appears that Cumulus has leased out WQKC, Jeffersonville, Indiana to Kentucky Sports Buzz, which has returned the 1,000-watt fulltimer to the air. In March 2010, Cumulus told the FCC that WQKC had transmitter problems and was operating at just 150 watts due to “high-voltage standing wave ratio.” By last November, it told the FCC it had “made a business decision to take the station off the air.” Now the “1450 The Sports Buzz” is broadcasting, using Yahoo Sports (the former Sporting News Radio) and the Dan Patrick show. The Kentucky Board of Radio-Info.com has been following the fate of 1450 since early August.
