"Lynx", Sirius XM's major new "2.0 radio", is finally available
Sirius XM had hoped for a fourth quarter debut and it makes the deadline just after Christmas. The "2.0" refers to the satellite radio services' expanded channel lineup, which can't be picked up on its legacy receivers. Highlights of "Lynx": - Store up to 200 hours of satellite radio programming for later playback, which can be set to be automatically recorded.
- From the Sirius XM Internet feed, replay up to five hours, with pause, rewind, replay and skip capabilities.
- Streaming to Bluetooth speakers, headphones, car entertainment systems or the new Lynx LH1 Home Kit. There is also an optional Lynx LV1 Vehicle Kit. Both kits are listed at $69.99.
- Ability to add new functionality and features with updates delivered through Wi-Fi download.
- A new "Show Finder" electronic programming guide, listing the offerings for the next seven days, and "reminder alerts."
So far, Lynx is available only at Crutchfield.com or at Shop.SiriusXM.com, with retail stores stocking the product soon. The recommended price is $249.99. Read the Lynx release from Sirius XM here.
