"Magic Christian" dies at 66
Charles Christianson/Chris Charles scored his first radio job at 17, at KLAS, Las Vegas and he was soon on a major-market whirl through Los Angeles (KBLA, KGBS), Chicago (WCFL), Boston (WMEX), Phoenix (KTAR) and San Diego (KCBQ). LARadio.com says Charles moved to Canada in the early 1970s and worked in Toronto, before returning to the States, to stations such as WHBQ, Memphis, and later a job at the Jones syndication operation in Colorado. He lived a colorful life, and died in Iowa last Friday of cancer, at 66.
