Maryland's WTTR-AM adds Jack Edwards & Joe Evelius
Oldies listeners to the station that TV personality Pat Sajak owns in Westminster, Maryland, outside Baltimore, will have no problem recognizing these names. Jack Edwards is a longtime Baltimore radio voice who got his start in 1959 on WCAO-AM (600). After 15 years at “Big 60” he moved to WCBM-AM (680) for another long run. Edwards, who has also been heard on Baltimore’s WITH, “92 Star” and WYRE-AM (810) in nearby Annapolis, will spin “The Greatest Hits Of All Time” weekdays from 9am-12pm. Joe Evelius will take over the Saturday midday shift. He has spent years on Maryland’s WITH, WAMD-AM (970) in Aberdeen and Sajak Broadcasting sister-station WNAV-AM (1430) in Annapolis. He’s also the producer of the annual “Christmas in Maryland” program heard every year on stations around the state, according to the WTTR website. WTTR-AM (1470) Station Manager Bob Mathers says adding Edwards & Evelius “makes for radio that’s both entertaining and more relevant…the way it used to be and the way it should be.”
