Minneapolis rhythmic "B96" KTTB re-images as "96.3 Now"
PD Sam Elliot says this isn’t really a format change: “We've been making a musical adjustment for the last six months”, away from hip-hop to rhythmic top 40. The last piece of it is a new image (“96.3 Now”), new call letters (KHTC) and a mostly new staff (morning man Tone E. Fly is a holdover). The flip from B96 to “96.3 Now” for KTTB, Edina happened at noontime. Northern Lights Broadcasting is owned by the Pohlad family, which also owns the Minnesota Twins baseball franchise. There were rumors that KTTB would go all-sports, but it’s staying with the music. It acquired KTTB in 2007 from Radio One for $28 million, and last year moved KTTB from Glencoe, MN to Edina, closer in to Minneapolis-St. Paul. The Minneapolis Board of Radio-Info is taking notice.
