Minnesota's American Public Media buys Miami non-com WMCU for $20 million

And it could be fulltime classical as soon as next month. Bill Kling says "We looked at Miami and saw it was the 12th largest market, and the largest market in the country without a classical music station" - and he committed $20 million to buy full Class C WMCU (89.7) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. American Public Media recently tendered an unsuccessful $20 million bid for Washington, D.C.-market non-com WGTS - though it would've gone news/talk on that one, not classical. Broker on WMCU: Kalil & Co.
