Molestation arrest for California's "Coyote" McGee not the first, says TV report
Radio-Info previously reported on the arrest of Chico, California KALF-FM (95.7) OM/PD Mark "Coyote" McGee, charged with committing lewd acts with a 15-year old girl at the radio station. Now comes word that the arrest was not the first for him. KRCR-TV reports that McGee, a popular country music radio personality who also serves as regional director of country programming for Mapleton Communications, was arrested in 1997 on charges of molesting a child in New Mexico. He was not convicted on those charges. In the most recent case, McGee told police he had molested the girl, who was not related to him, but was known to him. The girl disclosed the incident to a friend, who reported it to McGee's wife, who then encouraged him to turn himself in, which he did 24 hours later. McGee was arrested for child molestation and booked into the Butte County Jail on $100,000 bail.He pled not guilty on those charges in Butte County Court on Wednesday.
