More names confirmed in KNX Los Angeles lay-offs
Radio-Info.com has now confirmed all the KNX Los Angeles staffers who have been hit by the budget cuts axe. In addition to night anchor Larry Van Nuys (reported yesterday), we also learn from the Orange Country Register, that reporters Vytas Safroncikas, Todd Leitz and Karen Zarsadiaz are all out, as well as the “sports guys” Chris Madsen and Joe Cala, who are “benched.” The OCR also notes: “CBS management doesn’t comment on personnel matters, but if one connects the dots, one could say it may be related to the recent move of these KFWB newsmen to KNX: John Brooks, Bill Cooper, Bill Polish, Ed Mertz, and Pete Demetriou.”
