Morning co-host Jane Shannon is dropped by Seattle's KIRO-FM

Radio-Info has confirmed the second major morning change of the day in Seattle, as news/talk KIRO-FM (97.3) has cut co-host Jane Shannon from the morning show. Radio-Info has been told that morning host Gregg Hersholt will fly solo for now. Shannon spent 30 years behind the microphone on both radio and TV in Washington state. She had been co-hosting the morning show since 1994. Ratings and the budget could be the issue at Bonneville’s KIRO-FM, which has been badly trailing Fisher’s KOMO-AM (1000) in overall ratings. KOMO has been trending higher in the last three Arbitron PPM ratings. Shannon’s departure has been the big discussion on the Radio-Info.com Seattle-Tacoma board – Discuss it. Radio-Info.com has also reported that across town, at Fisher’s KVI, longtime morning host Kirby Wilbur was let go.
