Most popular format on RadioTime's 2009 ranking: News
Dallas-based RadioTime, an online guide to Internet audio, says “2009 was certainly a banner year for news junkies, with Barack Obama’s first year in office, two wars, the struggling economy and Michael Jackson’s death, just to name a handful” of the big stories. RadioTime says Top40/Pop was #2, AC #3, Sports #4, Hip-Hop #5, Talk #6, Electronic/Dance #7, Classical #8, Spanish #9, and Classic Rock was #10. RadioTime’s own observation is that “there’s a strong international presence [in the top 19 list] with Spanish, Euro Hits, Bollywood and French music formats all represented.” More on the RadioTime.com site.
