News anchor Gregg Hersholt heads to Portland's KXL
For longtime Pacific Northwest broadcaster Gregg Hersholt, heading to Portland is like heading home. Hersholt, who spent 26 years on Seattle's KIRO and also worked on KJR-AM (950) & KVI-AM (570), is returning to Portland, Oregon where he was once heard on KYTE-AM (970) & KLLB-FM (101.1). Hersholt has been named Managing Editor and afternoon drive news anchor for Portland's Alpha Broadcasting-owned news KXL-AM/FM (750/101.1). Alpha's Director of Programming Brian Jennings says, "Gregg's years of experience and dominance in Seattle along with his conversational style and interviewing techniques make him a natural choice for KXL. With our recent move to the FM dial at 101.1, Gregg brings a new energy to the KXL News Department and will help establish a new standard.” Hersholt will co-host afternoons on KXL with Lacey Evans. Hersholt will start on Monday, with Evans officially joining him on April 11.
