NJ Gov. Chris Christie gets a surprise caller to his monthly radio show

WKXW Trenton NJ She ran for Lt. Governor in New Jersey on the Democratic ticket against current Gov. Chris Christie. State Sen. Loretta Weinberg is a staunch defender of women's health issues, and obviously not a fan of Christie, who cut state grants for family planning clinics due to budget constraints. However, when it was announced that the state is expecting a surprise surplus of $511 million in revenues, Weinberg wants the $7.4 million Christie vetoed back in the budget. To get her point across, Weinberg called the "Ask The Governor" monthly program that airs on Trenton's WKXW-FM (101.5) hosted by News Director Eric Scott, and surprised Christie and listeners with her call-in. Once she was off the phone, the civility between Christie and Weinberg ended, with a clearly annoyed Christie saying, "I don't think it's been in the best interest of the state for Sen. Weinberg to be around the state mis-characterizing women's access to health care. This has become a political issue for Sen. Weinberg. She likes to throw around the political issues as much as anybody ... I’ll decide what I think is the most responsible way to spend money ... It's about how we spend our money."
