NPR reporter asked to avoid appearances on Fox News
Politico is reporting the request from NPR executives for National Public Radio’s top political correspondent, Mara Liasson, to avoid appearances on Fox News. That’s “because of what they perceived as the network’s political bias.” According to Politico, Liasson was asked to meet with top NPR execs to discuss her appearances on Fox News, at about the same time the White House launched their campaign linking Fox News with the Republican Party. Liasson, who is a regular contributor on Fox’s “Special Report” and “Fox News Sunday”, will remain as a Fox contributor. In August, Liasson came under fire for her comparison of the government’s “Cash for Clunkers” program, likening it to “a mini-Katrina.”
