Oaktree Capital backs the new Archstream management services
Los Angeles-based Oaktree Capital already supports three radio groups (GAP West, GAP Central, the new GAP East) and Triton Digital/Dial Global. Its idea with Archstream is to “leverage GAP’s existing infrastructure as well as the expertise of its senior management team" at the GAP companies. That includes Erik Hellum, George Laughlin and Jim Donahoe, plus GAP CFO Dan Wilson and EVP Digital Vic Savelli. Jim Donahoe explains the potential client field to the T-R-I newsletter: “There are a lot of companies that never achieved the scale they wanted, or used to have $10 million in revenue and now are doing $5 million – but still have $2 million in overhead.” Archstream also sees potential in building up radio’s digital properties and competing to build the most-used community web portal.
