Ocala Raceway'sd new owner – Bubba the Love Sponge
Saying he wanted to "give back to the racers," Florida-based syndicated radio host Bubba the Love Sponge Clem announced he has led a group of investors and bought Ocala Speedway. Located in Ocala, Florida, it is the oldest racetrack in Florida, starting out as a dirt oval in 1952 and growing to become a home for a number of events, including monster truck shows. Bubba says, "I myself have raced here and other tracks in Florida and outside of Florida for over ten years, and for the most part, track owners are greedy scum-bags. They want to make a great living at the expense of the racers. Very few track owners want to give back. Well those days are over at my track." The name of the raceway will also change becoming "Bubba Raceway Park," and will launch a new website soon, www.BubbaRacewayPark.com. Bubba is heard on five radio stations, four located in Florida, and has his own internet show on www.Radioio.com.
