On air comment lands San Francisco's KREV in trouble
KREV-FM (92.7), which recently rebranded from its dance music format to hip-hop as “The Revolution” amidst controversy, once again finds itself the center of attention among the gay community in the Bay area. New morning show host Elvis allegedly used a homophobic slur while pranking a caller. The publication “SFist” reports Elvis was in the middle of an on-air prank call, when the person he called hung up after telling Elvis he didn’t watch football. Elvis then calls him back and this time a woman answers the phone. Elvis says “Where is that butt sniffer I was just talking to?” There is no word yet if any listeners complained to the FCC, though ethnic and other slurs aren’t actionable under the indecency policy.
