Only 10 construction permits topped $100,000 in first 4 rounds of FCC auction
The standout future FM so far is a new Class A FM at 92.7 in the Erie, Pennsylvania market. After the first day, the bidding is up to $512,000. Rick Rambaldo-led First Channel Communications is bidding against Mini Me Media, whose parent is Connecticut-based Connoisseur. As it turns out, Rambaldo once worked for Connoisseur. Wednesday's bidding leaves three other future FMs at just below $200,000 each, with more rounds to come. Those are a new Class A at Northport, Alabama (TTI Inc. leads at $186,000). A new A at Daytona Beach Shores, Florida (GLK Consultants has the current top bid at $185,000). And a new A at Coosada, Alabama (Liberty Acquisitions 825 LLC is at $185,000 for the signal near Montgomery). Howard Kalmenson’s Lotus was interested in just one property out of the 144 permits up for auction, and Lotus is the current leader for it, at $154,000. That’s a new Class A at Waterford, California (east of Modesto). 96 permits have “provisionally winning bids”, or PWBs. 48 are “FCC held”, suggesting they may not find bidders in this Auction 91.
