Orlando's WNUE drops Spanish for Christmas, and staffers too
Not only did Entravision's WNUE-FM (98.1) in Titusville, Florida abandon Spanish music for Christmas music, but it may be planning ahead for changes after the holidays. The Radio-Info Orlando board is buzzing about the apparent purge of the on-air staff. The "Mega 98.1" website has been reduced to a banner saying "Escucha Manana a las 3 pm" (Listen tomorrow at 3pm). The Spanish station had been rated toward the bottom of the Orlando Arbitron PPM rankings, and it's being speculated that it be time for a change. The Orlando radio market just went live with the Arbitron PPM electronic measurement system with the September book. You can read more about the WNUE changeover on the boards here.
