Over 660 radio affiliates for Dial Global's coverage of Sunday's Super Bowl XLVI
The gameday broadcast that features Kevin Harlan and Boomer Esiason will be supported and produced by quite a large cast, EVP Roby Wiener tells Radio-Info.com. The Dial Global production will also be available inside the stadium ("if you want to get up and buy some nachos", Roby says), as well as on Sirius XM and NFL.com. Dial Global's Michael Schreck reports the ad sales for this Super Bowl from Indianapolis "were phenomenal...we're sold out, with a great client base" that expands categories such as insurance. Also, Dial Global is commissioning Edison Research to do another of its next-day telephone surveys, to gauge the size of the radio audience. Wiener says "The Super Bowl is a hugely symbolic TV event, but it's also a radio event." The production will tagged on the air as "Westwood One Sports on the Dial Global Radio Network", reflecting the 2011 purchase of the Westwood One Networks division by Dial Global. Along with Kevin Harlan and former NFL QB Boomer Esiason, the on-air talent includes Mark Malone, James Lofton, Jim Gray, Scott Graham, Larry Fitzgerald and Phil Simms. Grammy-winning singer Darius Rucker will open the broadcast of Super Bowl Sunday with his "tailor-made NFL tune, 'Kick-Off.'"
