Pandora Now Targeting Local Radio
Pandora has its focus on local radio advertising. According to Forbes.com, “The company considers itself one of the largest local radio stations in each local market compared to traditional terrestrial radio, with 4.3% of total U.S. radio listening in the quarter.” The online music streaming service will begin approaching local advertisers to try and convince them this is where they need to be. Pandora is now planning on hiring a local ad sales force and will focus on attracting local ads for the 2012 election cycle. What will aid Pandora in this new marketing move will be its large user base and highly targeted demographic information it has access to in regards to age, gender, and even zip codes. Look for the new “local ad push” to begin in 2012.Previous and Next Stories
