Portland, Oregon-market KKOV (1550) to switch from standards to talk
Pamplin Media Group will brand the format as "Talk 1550, Vancouver's Talk Station", because of its position in Vancouver, Washington, on the north side of the Columbia River that divides Oregon from Washington State. The Monday, April 4 flip brings 15 hours a day of programming from the Salem Radio Network, including Bill Bennett's Morning In America, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved and Hugh Hewitt, in a line from 3am Pacific time to 6pm. The new KKOV will also use talk programming from Westwood One, Premiere, Radio America and United Stations. Dennis Glasgow is the program director. Salem Radio Network's VP/News & Talk Programming Tom Tradup says "We are proud to partner with Pamplin Media Group for this exciting launch on Monday, and SRN is humbled to have our entire national talk lineup clearing live on 'Vancouver's Talk Station.'"
