Portland, Oregon now has its first Spanish news/talk station: "W Radio"
With a growing Latino population in the Rose City, Bustos Media-Oregon has flipped KOOR-AM (1010) from music to “W Radio 1010 AM,” Portland’s first Spanish news/talk radio station. Bustos Media Regional VP Ricky Tatum says, “With the continued growth and diversity of Oregon’s Latino population, the time has come for a Spanish News/Talk radio station.” Bustos already owns regional Mexican “La Gran D” KGDD-AM (1520), “La Paloma” Spanish Christian Contemporary KLPM-AM (1150) and regional Mexican “La Reyna” KRYN-AM (1230). In addition, Bustos Media and Entercom Communications operate a joint venture with a simulcast of ESPN Deportes on Vancouver, Washington’s KTRO-AM (910) & KWOD-AM (1390) in Salem, Oregon.
