Portland's KEX (1190) drops noon news and flips Dr. Laura with Dave Ramsey
The one-hour live and local noon news block on Portland’s KEX-AM will be replaced by an hour the syndicated Dave Ramsey Show. The new midday schedule now has Ramsey on from 12-3pm, following the syndicated Rush Limbaugh, and the local afternoon team of Mark Mason and Dave Anderson add an extra hour from 3-7pm. Ramsey’s former 7-10pm time slot will be taken by Dr. Laura, who was in the mid-afternoon time slot. Oregon Media Central speculates the move by KEX mirrors a move one month ago when rival KPAM-AM (860) host Victoria Taft shifted from evenings to middays. And that came after talk rival KCMD-AM (970) took conservative syndicated talkers Mark Levin & Sean Hannity from them.
