Protests planned over Wilmington, Delaware's WILM talk host flip
Upset that a local mid-morning talk host is being put into nights to accommodate the syndicated Glenn Beck, community activists are planning to protest outside of the studios of Clear Channel-owned WILM-AM (1450). Radio-Info has previously reported the Wilmington, Delaware news/talk station was taking local host John Watson and moving him to nights, adding Beck to his former morning slot. The station's Wendy Goldberg says "It was strictly a business decision based on what our listeners indicated to us that they wanted to hear. We're confident his fans will follow [Watson] ... and his program will thrive in the new time slot." Beck is syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks, which is owned by Clear Channel. WILM-AM also carries Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, both syndicated by Premiere. Delaware Online has more about the WILM changes and planned protest here.
