Radio brings the details of the Japan earthquake
The devastating earthquake that struck off the coast of Japan was recorded as the 5th strongest on record, and sent a tsunami wave over 20 feet high over parts of Japan, and traveled to Hawaii and the South American Pacific coast. News of the quake has taken over radio reports. Japan's NHK Radio is providing around-the-clock coverage that you can listen to in English here. As the tsunami wave headed to Hawaii, Honolulu's KHVH-AM (830) started taking calls about the wave hitting the Hawaiian Islands that you can listen to here. The same wave generated by the quake in Japan also headed to America's West Coast, where CBS Radio-owned news KNX-AM (1070) covered both the earthquake and the sea wave. You can listen to KNX here. Tsunami watches and warnings along the Pacific coast went up from Chile to Alaska, and hundreds are feared dead in Japan with many more missing.
