Radio in the U.K.

Global radio will cut as many as 30 jobs due to what they call "prudent reaction to the current economic climate." The cuts will come in a number of jobs from the LBC, Galaxy, and Heart brands ... Scotland's Talk 107 is being sued by former talk host Tommy Sheridan, who claims he was fired for "being too confrontational" and is owed severance pay ... RadioCentre, the body that represents the commercial radio industry, has called for BBC Radio 1 & 2 to become digital-only - to ramp up the reason why listeners should adopt digital radio ... Liverpool's KCR 106.7 was bought by a group headed by announcer Jon Jessop and will change the format, launching as "The Edge" later in the year ... The Highways Agency announced they will broadcast Traffic Radio 24-hours a day in digital radio ...Global Traffic Network has added 2 producers for their airborne operations unit.
