Radio One and Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth end their legal battle
Two months after filing a lawsuit against Radio One’s KBXX “97.9 the Box”, Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth drops his suit. Radio One, which had filed a counter suit, also drops its complaint. Fox 26 News reports that no reason was given for either side’s sudden dismissal – and that no settlement seems to have been agreed on. Trae Tha Truth alleged in his complaint that the station had stopped playing his music over a personal dispute with one of the Box’s DJs, and then that the station prevented him from making a living by banning his music, including any song he might be featured on. Before and since the lawsuit, three KBXX jocks claim they were fired for playing the rapper’s music. Those jocks are night duo The Kracker Nuttz, who exited in April, and middayer Brandy Garcia who exited in June.
