Radio One's Q4: finally, light at the end of the tunnel in L.A.

Radio_One_logoRadio One exec Barry Mayo tells this morning's quarterly call he likes the new management at urban AC V100, who's "re-structured our sales effort" and is "delving into areas of non-traditional revenue" - a needed thing, since KRBV (100.3) has seen a $25 million negative swing in cash flow. All told: Radio One's net revenues for last October-December were down 5% - the same as the average of the markets the company operates in. As for urban radio and the People Meter: Houston's "Box" and KMJQ have now climbed to their previous diary positions of being #1 in their demos (18-34 and 25-54). Looking into 2008, Radio One had a better January than its peers, says CEO Alfred Liggins - outperforming most of the markets it's competing in. Read the full quarterly and yearly report here.
