Radio remains the most-trusted source for news in the U.K. – with online now second

A study by U.K. broadcasting regulator OFCOM finds that for the first time, online sources have overtaken TV news as a more trusted source for news and information. The study found that 58% of people over the age of 16 said they trust online news, while 54% trust what they see on TV. Radio, however, is still the most-trusted source of information in the U.K., at 66%. In addition, the OFCOM report says the proportion of Internet users with a social networking profile has doubled since 2007, with Facebook being the most popular site. Newspapers were chosen as the least trustworthy news medium. You can read OFCOM’s Media Literacy report here.
