Radio Remembers: Boston Bruins hockey radio voice Fred Cusick
He spent 40 years broadcasting Bruins hockey games, known for his trademark “Score” whenever Bruin stars Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Cam Neely or others hit the back of the net. Fred Cusick was respected by his peers for his enthusiasm, passion, and love of the game he talked about. He was behind the radio mic from 1952 to 1970, before moving over to TV, where he announced until his retirement in 1997. Cusick, who was scheduled to be inducted to the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame this week, has passed away at the age of 90. Friends are remembering Fred on the Boston board.
